GLBTA Newsletter

It's a Yahoo Group called "Alternative Bellingham. One need not subscribe to see newsletter on line.

Newsletter announces weekly location of Wednesday Dinner and also has other notices from local GLBTA community. Contact Robert directly with your information for posting in this newsletter. It's an edited newsletter that comes out roughly once per week.

Wednesday Dinner

Meets 5:30 PM each Wednesday around a table (or tables) in different restaurants each week. Potluck in a house on first Wednesday of each month. Mostly men. Always a different mix and also a lot of regulars come. Welcomes new people. A good place to start and see who's around town. Weekly locations announced in my newsletter.

Bellingham Sex Positive Center

The Bellingham Sex Positive Center promotes the discovery and enjoyment of our personal desires. We offer a diverse calendar of events in order to provide education and to activate conversation and exploration of open, consensual, and safe gratification. The BSPC is an inclusive, all-embracing venue that is available to adults who are open-minded and interested in exploring the innumerable aspects of non-traditional relationships, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual expression.

Substance use disorders have a greater effect on LGBTQ+ people than on the heterosexual population. The LGBTQ+ community must overcome several obstacles, including being denied substance abuse treatment because of their sexual identity. However, through the proper understanding and accommodation of LGBTQ+ care principles, substance abuse treatment can be successful.

Literary Magpie

Literary Magpie is a blog that focuses on gay and lesbian literature by interviewing LGBTQ authors, performance artists and publishers and reviewing queer books and literature. Literary Magpie also explores the writing life and features monthly guest bloggers from the U.S. and abroad.

WOW! Women of Whatcom

WOW! Women of Whatcom Announcing a new Yahoo group for creating and sharing events of interest to women in Whatcom County.... We need a central place where women can go to find out what's happening. WOW! Women of Whatcom has a calendar where events can be posted, and messages can be sent to the group to arrange new events, find rides to events, etc. Events aren't necessarily exclusively for women, but they are of particular interest to lesbian, bisexual, or straight women. Events are in Whatcom County or nearby (within an hour's drive or so).

North Sound Lesbians Meetup Group

We are a group of lesbians that live all over but mostly in the Whatcom/Skagit counties and Southern BC. We are a social group that gets together for potlucks, game nights, girls night out, camping, hiking, coffee, book clubs, motor cycle rides, dancing, volunteering, picnics, fishing and any other ways we can think of to socialize.
